WeCanLiberia is a registered female lead nonprofit organization established April 5, 2020 in Liberia from the aspiration to make Liberia a better place for all gender through volunteerism. This organization prioritizes women and girls empowerment, providing educational opportunities for girls in Rural Liberia and as well as the 17 sustainable development goals. WeCanLiberia has made a tremendous impact in Rural Bong, Grand Bassa and Montserrado, thanks to the help of members and volunteers in these counties. The core of our work lies in the continuous passion and dedication we bring to the range of projects we take part in. Meaningful Work

Recognizing the magnitude of challenges our society faces, WeCanLiberia is dedicated to making a lasting impact in girls education, their capacity building, and sustainable communities in Liberia. While our efforts are driven by our organization’s focus (Sanitation, Education, and Entrepreneurship), we spread a wide net by investing in a variety of programs.

SANITATION

Feeling like there are countless pressing issues that no single program could make a marked difference? Our Menstrual hygiene initiative has proven to be an effective tool for WeCanLiberia to successfully educate girls about their body and sexual reproductive health which has improve countless lives in our local community.

EDUCATION

Through our scholarship program, which is "Girls Go For Higher Education, we have the potential to make real and positive change. We also believe education is the passport that prepares girls for a successful future and makes them future leaders. This is one of our key areas of focus here at WeCanLiberia, and a source of much success for our Non-Profit Organization.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP

We see every challenge as an opportunity, and our Entrepreneurship initiative helps WeCanLiberia ensure that those we serve are better prepared to persevere in the unique situations they find themselves in. In this initiative, we teach girls how to be their own bosses through soap making, chloride, decorating of copy books, and financial management.

VOLUNTEERING

The Volunteering program is our longest running initiative, based on the premise that making a real difference is not only possible but vital. At WeCanLiberia, Volunteering is a source of great pride for our Non-Profit Organization.

PAD BEYOND BORDERS

This is our most recent launch project to provide sex education and sanitary products to girls in rural Liberia through the collaboration of other feminist lead organizations. The goal of this project is to construct a subunit sexual reproductive health awareness centers for girls in rural Liberia to have access to safe sanitary products and establish sexual health clubs in rural schools. By doing this, we are able to reduce teenage pregnancy and teenage mother mortality rate in the rural part of Liberia.

COMMUNITY LED TOILET SANITATION

Access to public toilet is a right not a privilege.

This project aims to construct 100 rooms pour flush toilet for the people in the Rural parts of Liberia. This project was launched in April of 2021 and we have since then constructed 8 rooms modern toilets in Gbartala, Bong County Liberia. This is where we will need your help to keep providing access to safe toilets facilities for people in the rural area.
